‘Will take every step to protect citizens’, President Murmu said- Operation Sindoor will be an example in the fight against terrorism

President Draupadi Murmu said in his address on the eve of Independence Day that Operation Sindoor would be remembered as a historic example in the fight against terrorism. President Murmu described the terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam as ‘cowardly and completely inhuman’. He further stated that India’s response to Pahalgam attack was with operation vermilion, decisive and determination. President Murmu said Operation Sindoor showed that our armed forces are ready to face any situation to protect the nation. He stressed that he will take every step to protect the citizens.

Draupadi Murmu said that this year, we had to bear the brunt of terrorism. The murder of innocent citizens who visited Kashmir was cowardly and absolutely inhuman. India answered this in a decisive manner with steely resolution. Operation Sindoor showed that when the question of security of the nation comes up, our armed forces prove to be fully capable of facing any situation. He said that in the field of operation vermilion, immunity, there was also an opportunity for the ‘self -sufficient Bharat Mission’ examination. Now it has been proved that we are on the right path. Our indigenous manufacturing has reached a decisive level where we have also become self-sufficient in fulfilling many of our security-needs.

He said that inspired by young talents, our space program has seen unprecedented expansion. I am confident that Shubhanshu Shukla’s space journey up to the international space station has inspired an entire generation to dream big. This will prove to be extremely helpful for India’s upcoming human space flight program, ‘Gaganyaan’. Filled with new confidence, our youth are making their mark in sports. For example, chess now has more dominance of the youth of India than ever. We hope for transformational changes that will establish India as a global sports superpower under the approach contained in the National Sports Policy 2025.

The President said that to face the challenge of climate change, we also have to make some changes in ourselves. We have to change our habits and our world-vision. We have to change our relations with our earth, rivers, mountains, trees and animals and animals. He said that on the strength of the efforts made in the social sector, India is on the path of becoming a developed economy by 2047 on the strength of overall economic development.
