Deshmukh criticized the government for ignoring important issues like drinking water, pending citizen elections and vacant parents posts and emphasized immediate governance reform.
After the meetings between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar, in view of political speculation, NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh rejected any perception of re -integration between NCP factions. According to Deshmukh, these meetings are not related to the discussion on merger, but were around regular matters related to Chinese and educational institutions. Highlighting the incomplete administrative duties, Deshmukh urged the state to expedite the local body elections as per the Supreme Court’s directive.
Deshmukh criticized the government for ignoring important issues like drinking water, pending citizen elections and vacant parents posts and emphasized immediate governance reform. Deshmukh also attracted attention to the recruitment scam in Malegaon, alleging more than 100 fake teacher appointments. He demanded a thorough investigation and questioned the administrative accountability in the education sector and warned that legal action would be taken if quick steps are not taken.
The former Home Minister of the state said that such meetings are held. On the issue of pending civic elections in the state, Deshmukh said that the election should be held as per the orders of the Supreme Court. He said, “Clean drinking water and government issues are pending, elections should not be delayed.” Elections of several municipal bodies including Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have long pending. Last month, the Supreme Court directed the State Election Commission to hold body elections within four months. On the issue of not appointing ministers in charge of Raigad and Nashik, Deshmukh said, “It is disappointing that the major administrative posts are vacant.” We need to come together for better governance and solve it. ‘
