After a five-year ban on firecrackers, if the court gives its approval, then fireworks can return to festivals.

Activist Bhavna Kandhari said, “Green crackers are called green, but in reality they are also poisonous. One night of fireworks makes the air bad for several days.”
Firecracker traders say that if green firecrackers are approved, it will stop illegal trade and people will be able to choose safe options. Rajeev Jain, member of Delhi Fireworks Traders Association, said, “A complete ban prevents people from buying traditional firecrackers surreptitiously. Allowing permission will keep the market under control.”
At the same time, doctors and parents are calling it dangerous for children and the elderly. Delhi’s air is already poisonous, and pollution is sure to increase during the festival season. Experts say that any kind of relaxation can make this Diwali more polluted.
