Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Monday commented on the news of the possibility of contesting the upcoming Bihar assembly elections and clarified that his priority has always been Bihar and Bihari. He said that he has made the party aware of his wish to return to state politics soon. Paswan emphasized that he wanted to see Bihar as a developed state, about which he said, “If I am in Delhi, this is not possible.”

Talking to reporters, Paswan said that I have said earlier that I do not see myself in national politics for a long time. Bihar and Bihari are the only reason for entering politics. My vision has always been ‘Bihar first, Bihari first’ and I always want Bihar to be prosperous and equal to other developed states. And after becoming an MP for the third time, I realized that this would not be possible in Delhi. I had expressed my wish to the party (Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)) that I want to return to Bihar soon.
Chirag Paswan said that my party is still evaluating that if I contest the assembly elections now, will my party benefit. If my strike rate improved and the performance of my alliance improved, which is very much likely, then I will definitely contest elections. There is no vacancy for the post of CM in Bihar. After the election, Nitish Kumar will become CM. Amidst the electoral atmosphere in Bihar, there is speculation that the Chief of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister Chirag Paswan to contest the assembly elections to be held in October-November this year.
Party leader and MP Arun Bharti has now publicly supported the move and described it as a collective demand from the ground level. Arun Bharti wrote on X that our national president Chirag Paswan always says that his politics is Bihar -centric and his vision “Bihar First, Bihari First” is the resolution of a developed and self -sufficient Bihar. This is possible only when they live in Bihar themselves.
Arun Bharti further wrote that when I went from village to village as state in-charge, people had the same demand that Chirag ji should now play a big role in Bihar. Recently, in the party executive meeting, the proposal was unanimously passed that they should contest the upcoming assembly elections themselves. At the same time, the workers also have a feeling that this time they should not contest from any reserved seat, but from a normal seat – so that they are now ready to lead the entire Bihar, not just one class.

He wrote that Chirag Paswan is not just a representative, but the whole of Bihar is expected. His move will give a new direction to the politics of social justice-in which the fight for proper perception will also be fought. Bharti also wrote that when the leader is from the whole of Bihar, why the scope of the seat should be limited? The activists also have a feeling that this time Chirag Paswan should not contest from any reserved seat in Bihar Assembly elections, but to contest from a general seat – Chirag Paswan is now expected not just a community, not just a community.
