The accused husband stabbed his wife’s stomach, then strangled her. After this, the alive wife was put in the bathroom and ran away.
On March 26, a husband was killed by a husband in Hulimavu area of Bangalore, Karnataka.
Police investigation revealed that the accused husband Rakesh Khedekar had packed his wife Gauri Anil Panrekar in a living suitcase after stabbing. Gauri died inside the suitcase.
In forensic examination, a large amount of mucus was found in the suitcase. According to the forensic team, the mucus comes out only when the person is alive, if the person is dead and the mucus is filled in it, then the mucus does not come out.

Rakesh’s father is the maternal uncle of Gauri. He remained in a live-in relationship for four years.
There was a minor fight between Rakesh and Gauri
According to media reports, Rakesh and Gauri Anil Sarkhekar, who hail from Maharashtra, were married about two years ago, they shifted to Bangalore from Mumbai a month ago. Rakesh used to work in a tech firm in Bengaluru, while Gauri was looking for a job.
Rakesh told the police that there was a fight between them on 26 March. Rakesh slapped him and in response, Gauri angrily threw a knife at him. He suffered a minor injury. After this, Rakesh angrily attacked his wife twice and stomach with the same knife.
Gauri was brought to Bangalore with the intention of killing
According to the police, Rakesh brought him to Bangalore with him to kill Gauri. After killing, the accused tried to take the trolley with the body, but when the suitcase handle broke, he left the suitcase in the bathroom itself. At the same time, Rakesh washed and cleaned the blood from the floor. He locked the house from outside and ran away in his Honda City car late at night.
Rakesh wanted to go to Mumbai to meet his parents. He switched off his phone before exiting the city. On the way to Pune, he turned the phone again.
On 27 March, he called Gauri’s brother Ganesh Anil Sambrekar and told that he had killed Gauri. After this, Gauri’s brother informed the local police.
Gauri told the landlord to commit suicide
Investigation revealed that Rakesh had called Prabhu Singh, the second tenant of the building, he told Singh that his wife had committed suicide by hanging himself and asked him to inform the police and the owner of the building. Singh called the landlord. The landlord reported on the police helpline. Police broke the door and reached the house. On searching, he found the body of Gauri in the suitcase.
Rakesh was pretending to be mentally disturbed
Rakesh was arrested on 27 March in Pune. After which Rakesh was pretending to be mentally disturbed. According to the police, he is perfectly fine and is trying to get sympathy by behaving unusual. He is misleading the police.
Rakesh told the police that there were always differences between his wife and his parents. Gauri wanted to stay apart, so she brought her to Bangalore. However, Gauri started blaming him for bringing him to a new city and not getting a job.
Tried to commit suicide by drinking phenyl
Rakesh also tried to commit suicide after killing Gauri. While going to Mumbai, he bought phenyl and cockroaches drugs and drank it. When he felt restless, the bike rider rushed to Shirwal Hospital. Where he was cured after treatment.
Rakesh’s father is the maternal uncle of Gauri. He completed his schooling by staying in Rakesh’s house. The two fell in love and remained in a live-in relationship for four years. He married Gauri’s family two years ago against the will. Ganesh Anil Sambrekar and his wife came to Bangalore and cremated Gauri at the Wilson Garden Cremation Ghat.
Injury marks on Gauri’s body- DCP
DCP South East said Sarah Fatima said that at around 5:30 pm on Friday evening, we received a call about a suspect hanging case in the control room. When our Hulimavu Police Inspector reached home to investigate on the basis of a complaint, the door was closed. After entering inside, they found a suitcase in the bathroom.
According to DCP, on opening the suitcase, the body of a woman was found inside her, on which there were bruises. We tried to locate her husband, but she could not be found. When we discovered him, we were told that he was detained in Pune, Maharashtra. We have now registered a case of murder.
