But the question arises why the weather department does not continue blue or black alert? Let’s understand the science, logic and objective behind this color-based system.
Why a warning is issued
The main objective of the US Department’s Alert system is clear to the public, administration and disaster management agencies about the severity and potential risks. So that people should be prepared for it if the weather is damaged. Colors have been selected in this way that they may understand. Red, Orange, Yellow Colors are acting like traffic signals, which help people understand the seriousness of danger.
Red Alert
It is the most serious warning to describe too much heavy rains, storm or a serious danger. Red Alert means the situation is very dangerous and immediate action. For example, the Red Alert is issued to rain over 100 mm.
Orange Alert
This is a medium level alert that is serious but the red is not dangerous as alert. This warning advises administration and people to be ready. This means the weather may worsen, as heavy rains, storms or electricity is likely to fall. In this case, people are advised to stay in the house.
Yellow Alert
This warning is to raise awareness, such as the weather department issues Yellow Alert in a mild rainfall position.
Green alerts
The Green Alert is issued when the mild rain is likely to rain. There is no warning and there is no need to nervous.
Why not blue or black ultra?
The meteorological system system does not include a blue or black alert, as the colors are selected on psychological and scientific basis. The blue color is also considered a symbol of peace and cooling, which is not right to represent the condition of danger. It can create confusion among people. On the other hand, the black color is associated with mourning, death or perfect destruction. The use of black color can spread unnecessary horror. Cause these colors are not selected.
