The Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that a joint statement could not be adopted in the meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as the consensus could not be reached, especially on the issue of terrorism. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that the Defense Minister attended the meeting of SCO’s Defense Ministers. The meeting lasted for two days and ended. They could not accept the joint statement. Some member countries could not reach consensus on some issues, and therefore, the document could not be finalized.

He described regional security, safety and stability as a common responsibility that can accelerate progress in member countries and improve life.
