Munir’s second journey in two months
Munir last visited the US in June, when India ran Operation Sindoor, destroying several terrorist bases and infrastructure in Pakistan. The attack was carried out in response to a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 people lost their lives. This was the first time a Pakistani President welcomed a Pakistani military officer without the presence of a leader of a civil government. During his visit, Munir also met US President Donald Trump at the White House. The White House said in a statement that Trump and Munir interacted on several issues, in which Trump proposed that the US President should be given the Nobel Prize for “stopping the nuclear war” between India and Pakistan.
