The wheat crop caught fire in Amritsar today. The incident is from Rajasansi village. The 2 acre crop of Bal Singh, the farmer of Sarangra, was burnt to ashes. The farmer received information in the morning that his farm had caught fire. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

The farmers said that neither the fire brigade nor the police or administration officials came to the spot for two hours. The people of the village controlled the fire by pouring water with the help of 8-10 tractors. Kisan Bal Singh said that he had cultivated land on contract.
