Dr. Vijay Joshi told that when you cannot see clearly with glasses or lenses, surgery is the only option left. Surgery is advised only when the quality of your vision is affected due to cataract. Don’t rush the surgery. Because the eyes are not damaged due to cataract. But, if you have diabetes then do not delay it.

He told that cataract surgery should be done when it starts causing problems in your daily and everyday activities. In such a situation, surgery should be done, one should not wait for the cataract to ripen. By doing this the surgery becomes more complicated. Mostly surgery of both the eyes is not done simultaneously. If the improvement after surgery in one eye is good, then the surgery of the other eye can be done the next day also. It depends on the convenience of both the patient and the doctor.

What can be the reason for cataract

Cataracts can be caused by many factors, such as ageing, diabetes, excessive alcohol consumption, excessive exposure to sunlight, family history of cataracts, high blood pressure, obesity, eye injury or inflammation, and a history of cataracts. Key surgery, prolonged use of corticosteroid modification, smoking are all causes of cataract.

How to prevent cataract

Cataract disease in the eyes can be avoided by taking some measures, such as do not smoke, do not consume too much alcohol, take green vegetables in food, eat nutritious food and dry fruits in limited quantity. Use sunglasses while going out in the hot sun. Do not take medicines continuously. Get your eyes checked regularly.
