A house collapsed in Jaipur, the father and daughter died and five others were injured. The police gave this information on Saturday. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Durg Singh Rajpurohit said that the accident took place late Friday night near Subhash Chowk Circle. In the house where this accident happened, 19 people live on rent. He said that prima facie the cause of the accident is believed to be the shabby and the continuous rain. On receiving the information, police, administration and other teams reached the spot. According to the information received, Prabhat (33) and his daughter Pihu (6) died in the accident while his wife Sunita is injured. Apart from these, four people have been admitted to the hospital.
Strained and injured residents
According to ADCP Uttara Durg Singh Rajpurohit, around 19 tenants lived in the building. Seven of these people were injured by the building collapsing, two of whom died. The police received information between 1:15 am to 1:30 am and immediately the personnel were sent to the spot along with the civil security team.
Four -storey building collapsed in Subhash Chowk
Late Friday night, a four -storey dilapidated building in Chile Ka Kuan area located in Subhash Chowk, Jaipur suddenly collapsed. Prabhat and his 6 -year -old daughter Pihu were killed in this tragic incident, while four others including Prabhat’s wife Sunita were seriously injured. The rescue operations by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and civil security continued overnight, rescuing seven people trapped in the debris. There were more than 20 tenants in the building, most of which were migrant laborers. Limestone structure was weakened due to continuous heavy rains, causing the building to collapse.

Emergency response continues
Rescue operations are going on and medical assistance is being provided to the injured – including five people undergoing treatment in the hospital. The authorities are assessing the stability of the building and investigating the damage caused by heavy rains in the area recently. The incident highlights the dangers arising from the neglected infrastructure during adverse weather and continuous rains in Jaipur, which emphasizes immediate preventive measures and the need for maintenance of old residential buildings.
Rescue operations are still on. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall at sporadic places in Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch on 6 and 7 September. Gujarat, eastern Rajasthan and southwest Rajasthan are expected to receive heavy rainfall from 6 to 7 September.

IMD said in a statement, “There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at sporadic places in Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch on September 6 and 7, Gujarat region on September 6, East Rajasthan on 6 September and September 7, 2025 Southwest Rajasthan is expected to have extraordinary heavy rain (30 cm).”
