Advisory has been issued by the health department regarding heat, in which people have been advised not to get out of the house in strong sunlight. Also, beds have been reserved for patients affected by heat stroke in all government hospitals.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain in the state till 17 April, while light to moderate rain may occur at some places on April 18 and 19. At the same time, there is a possibility of heat stroke in some parts of the state between 16 and 18 April. In the last 24 hours, the Meteorological Department has recorded rain in some districts: 3.1mm in Pathankot, 0.5 mm in Bathinda, 9.9 mm in SBS Nagar, 0.5mm in Fatehgarh Sahib, 9.5mm in Ropar and 12.2 mm in Chandigarh.
