Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav has taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kanpur. He said that the BJP government is still cutting the lace of the development works done by the previous SP government. Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X that now how many years are the BJP rule, yet see that they are cutting the work of SP. SP’s work, public names:- Panki Thermal Extension Scheme, Neyveli Lignite Power Plant, Kanpur Metro.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 15 large development projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Modi inaugurated the new underground section of Kanpur Metro Rail Project from Chuniganj to Kanpur Central. The section includes five new underground stations- Chuniganj, Bada Square, Naveen Market, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central. With this expansion of Kanpur Metro, important sites like Red Tamarind, Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, Parade Ground, Book Market and Somdutt Plaza will be directly connected to this metro.

According to a statement, currently nine stations from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Kanpur to Motijheel are in operation. With this new section, travel by metro in the city will be more convenient, fast and safe. Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the 660 MW power unit in Ghatampur and a thermal power project in Panki. These projects will ensure stable and adequate power supply for Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states. Apart from this, two new railway bridges from Panki power plant to Kalyanpur were also inaugurated.
