We do not oppose Hindi, only against imposing it: Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena (Ubatha) chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that his party does not oppose Hindi, but is against “imposed”. Thackeray said this while talking to reporters after a protest in South Mumbai.

During this protest, copies of the government order of June 17 were lit, in which three policy instructions were issued for schools. Shiv Sena (Ubatha) staged similar protests across the state.

Thackeray said, “We have lit copies of the government order, which means that we do not accept it. We do not oppose Hindi, but we will not allow it to be imposed. There is injustice to Marathi. The question is how much pressure you are going to put on students. ”

The former Chief Minister also said that the ‘Morcha’ to be held on July 5 on this issue will be grand, which will be jointly organized by his party and Raj Thackeray -led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

The government issued an order on 17 June, stating that students from class 1 to 5 in Marathi and English medium schools will be taught Hindi as “third”.
