The All India Muslim Personal Law Board is running a ‘Waqf Rescue Campaign’ against the new Waqf Act.
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) will protest in Delhi on Tuesday to protest against the new Waqf law. As part of the ‘Waqf Rescue Campaign’, ‘Talkatora Stadium in Delhi’ is being organized under the name ‘Tahfuz-e-Aaucaf Caravan’ (protecting Waqf).
The program will run from 10 am to 2 pm. It will gather presidents and representatives of many big Muslim organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. At the same time, the Leader of the Opposition Asaduddin Owaisi, RJD MP Manoj Jha, Congress MP Imran Masood, SP MP Mohibullah Nadvi can also join.
The first phase of AIMPLB’s ‘Waqf rescue operation’ started from April 11, which will last for 7 July i.e. 87 days. In this, 1 crore signatures will be made in protest against the Waqf law, which will be sent to PM Modi. After this, the strategy of the next phase will be decided.

AIMPLB objections regarding Waqf law
- Capture Waqf properties: The board claims that the bill will make it easy for the government or individuals to grab Waqf properties.
- Lack of autonomy: Opposition to include non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board in the new law and to give the right to district collectors to evaluate assets.
- Violation of religious freedom: AIMPLB says that the bill violates the right to religious freedom under the Constitution, as it does not treat Hindu and Sikh religious institutions equally.
- Inappropriate intervention: The board believes that it is not acceptable to reduce the powers of Waqf boards and increase government control.
Modi government accused of running communal agenda

AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Fazalur Rahim Mujdidi has appealed to all religious and social organizations to join the campaign.
AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Fazalur Rahim Mujdidi released the video message. In the video, Mujdidi has accused the government of running communal agenda and weakening secularism.
He said in the video- This campaign is being run to protect Waqf properties and cancel the bill. AIMPLB believes that this bill will harm the nature and autonomy of Waqf properties, which they consider against Islamic values, Sharia, religious freedom and Indian Constitution.
According to the board, the movement will run until the bill is completely canceled. It has been named ‘Waqf Save, Save the Constitution’ campaign, as the board connects it with constitutional rights.

AIMPLB Boli- A mass movement like Shah Bano case will be made
AIMPLB has talked about making it a broad mass movement like Shah Bano case (1985), which will spread from cities to villages. The women’s wing of AIMPLB will make women aware by organizing programs at different places. The board has appealed to the community to exercise restraint and avoid emotional reactions.
Programs to be held under Waqf rescue operation
- 22 April: A big event will be organized at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium named ‘Tahfuz-e-Aaucaf Caravan’ (Hifazat of Waqf).
- 30 April: At 9 pm, people across the country will close the lights for half an hour in their homes, offices, and factories and will protest through ‘blackout’.
- 7 May: Another big program at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
What is the personal law board to do
- Protests by creating a human chain (human chain) after the prayers of Jumme. Strike at the capitals and district headquarters of all states, symbolic arrests, plan to submit a memorandum to the President-Home Minister.
- Press conference in 50 big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad. These cities will have meetings with Islamic research scholars and religious leaders, where the loss of Waqf law will be reported.
On April 5, the President approves the law, the gazette notification issued

The Waqf Amendment Bill (now Law) passed on April 2 after a discussion of 12-12 hours in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on 3 April. After this, President Draupadi Murmu approved the bill late on 5 April. The government has issued a gazette notification regarding the new law. The central government will issue separate notifications regarding the date of implementation of the law.
During the discussion on the bill, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had said- The purpose of the law is to prevent bias, misuse and encroachment in Waqf properties. The bill was supported by 128 members in the Rajya Sabha, 95 protested. This bill was passed in the midnight of 2 April in the Lok Sabha. During this period, 288 MPs voted in support and 232 in protest.
