Today, people of Muslim community will gather in Bharat Nagar Chowk in Ludhiana, Punjab. Slogans will be raised against the central government. The Waqf Board bill has been revised in the Lok Sabha, it will be strongly opposed.

The dharna will be led by Khalid Ali, the leader of the Muslim community. A large number of Muslim brotherhood will participate in this dharna. In view of security, the district police has also made strong arrangements. The march will also be taken from Bharat Nagar Chowk to Deputy Commissioner’s office. After which the demand letter will be handed over to the Deputy Commissioner.
What is the objective of the government to bring a Waqf bill?
On August 8, 2024, two bills, Waqf (Amendment) Bills, 2024 and Muslim Waqf (Realf) Bill, 2024 were introduced in the Lok Sabha. Their purpose is to make the Waqf Board work well -organized and better manage the property of Waqf.
The objective of Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 is to amend the Waqf Act, 1995, so that the problems and challenges faced in the regulations and management of Waqf properties can be resolved. The amendment bill aims to improve the management of Waqf properties in the country. Its purpose is to improve the efficiency of Waqf boards by making changes like removing the flaws of previous law and changing the name of the Act.
