Vishwakhabram: US restrictions and Europe’s warning ineffective, drone engines are reaching Russia from China by dodging everyone

Despite the Western sanctions, Russia’s defense construction capabilities have not weakened as it is continuously helping from allies. Let us tell you that a report has revealed that China is being sent to Russia as “Industrial Refrigeration Units” through the engine pseudo companies built by China. Its main objective is to escape the strict sanctions imposed by Western countries.

Let us tell you that Russian weapon manufacturer Iemz Kupol has tripled its Garpiya-A1 drone despite the Western sanctions. While 2,000 drones were prepared in 2024, in 2025 the number is planned to reach 6,000. Let us tell you that according to reports, by April 2025, Russia has sent more than 1,500 drones to Ukraine and attacked citizens and military bases.

Although China has not officially accepted that it has given Russia a weapon or drone technology, according to media reports, the Chinese company Beijing Xichao International Technology and Trade supplied banned engines to Russian company Kupol. These engines were described as “coolant units” so that this supply within China does not seem wrong in terms of rules. According to the report, these engines were first transported to Kupol via Russian pseudo-company SMP-138 and then Libss. The entire mechanism was operated through China’s official airlines Sichuan Airlines and China Southern Airlines, showing that China’s state-controlled institutions are also indirectly involved in this process.

Let us tell you that recently the European Union and America had imposed several sanctions to weaken the defense industry of Russia, in which Chinese companies such as Xiamen Limbach Aviation Engine Co. Also included. Despite this, Kupol ensured the supply of necessary equipment for drone manufacture through new companies such as Xichao. Following this revelation, the European Union’s high representative Kaja Kalas has appealed to China to stop the business of military aid to Russia. European Commission Chairman Ursula von Dar Leyen is also going on a visit to China in the same background.

If seen, there are many deep geopolitical messages of this development. For example, the China-Russia alliance is once again challenging the global power balance. Also, the security of Europe is directly affected by this pseudo -cooperation. At the same time, China’s dual policy and Russia-China cooperation can also affect India’s strategic status in future. There is no doubt that the secret supply of dual-use technology to Russia by China is not only a commercial agreement, but also strategic military cooperation. This strategy appears to be a part of China’s ‘Gray Zone Warfare’ policy, in which it strengthens its strategic associate with indirect assistance avoiding direct confrontation.

Let us also tell you that the Western sanctions due to Ukraine War have tried to disrupt Russia’s weapon production capacity, but the reality is visible from the beginning. Russia has not only been successful in maintaining its military production capacity, but has further strengthened its defense industry by getting secret assistance from countries like Iran, North Korea and now China. Let us remind you that Iran has played an important role in the supply of drones to Russia before China. The ‘martyr’ category of Kamikaji drones, which were sent from Iran to Russia, had caused heavy damage to Ukraine’s energy structure. In addition, reports of North Korea supply ammunition and missiles supply have also been revealed to Western agencies. If this trend continues like this, then Russia’s military production capacity will not only remain, but will also help in pulling the war longer. At the same time, it will become a new example challenging the global security system, in which disregard of state-proposed network restrictions, giving air to direct war with indirect cooperation.
