India is on high alert, a day after Pakistan and Bangladesh approved the visa-free entry of officers for untreated movement of diplomats between the two countries. The decision was announced after a high-level meeting in Dhaka between Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh’s Home Affairs advisor Jahangir Alam Chaudhary. Islamabad said in a statement that a significant success has been achieved in relation to the convenience of visa-free admission for diplomatic and official passport holders and the two countries have reached a principle agreement on the matter.

However, no date has been stated when a visa-free entry will apply for diplomats. According to an Economic Times report, India has expressed concern over the move as it may increase the movement of ISI officials, which may threaten national security on the eastern and northeast borders. Sources have told the news agency that the increasing presence of Pakistani officials in Bangladesh will further strengthen the anti -India Islamic groups, which further threat to the country’s security.

Officials of Pakistan and Bangladesh also interacted on major issues including anti-terrorism, internal security, police training, drug control and human trafficking measures. A joint committee will be formed to monitor and coordinate the implementation of new initiatives. The two countries agreed to start the exchange program for police academies. A delegation from Bangladesh will soon visit the National Police Academy of Pakistan in Islamabad.

Pakistan has formed a joint committee headed by Internal Secretary Khurram Aga to further enhance cooperation with Bangladesh. A high-level Bangladeshi delegation will soon come to Islamabad to visit the safe city project and the National Police Academy. Chaudhary, while giving the Guard of Honor to Naqvi, said that your journey is very important for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
