There is an atmosphere of political uncertainty after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s resignation amid anti -corruption protests in Nepal. 19 people were killed in violent demonstrations after a ban on turnip media, most of whom were students, and the movement soon turned into a comprehensive movement against the political elite sitting rooted. This is the biggest crisis in front of Nepal’s newborn democracy since the end of the monarchy in 2008. This unrest has exposed a deep rift between the political aristocracy and the restless youth of the country. After the resignation of KP Sharma Oli, Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah, which people call Balen Shah, came into the discussion as the face of the new Prime Minister. 33 -year -old Mayor Balen Shah supported the youth on social media. However, it is being said that Balendra Shah has not shown any interest in taking power in Nepal.

According to media reports, an online meeting was called by Jane Z protesters about who will control Nepal’s political instability. More than five thousand youth participated in this virtual meeting. Balendra Shah, who is still considered the leader of Nepal’s Jane Z movement, has not responded to the appeal of the youth. It is being told that he did not even pick up the call. After which the discussion again went towards other names. After which former Chief Justice Sushila Karki got the most support. According to media reports, Karki had earlier laid the condition of at least 1,000 written signature for the post of PM. It is being told that he has received more than 2500 support letters.

Who is Sushila Karki
Karki became the Chief Justice on July 11, 2016 and is the only woman in the country to hold the post. Interestingly, the constitutional council headed by the then Prime Minister KP Oli recommended her for the post and now she can replace Oli. According to the news, some generation Z workers are in their favor, although they are also considering other names. Karki is known for fearless and strict stance in corruption cases. He has a postgraduate degree in political science from BHU, Varanasi.
