Vijay Verma spoke on mental health, Aamir Khan’s daughter helped him overcome depression; ‘I couldn’t move from my sofa’

Bollywood actor Vijay Verma has spoken openly about his mental health for the first time. The actor has interacted with Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast, where Vijay revealed that he suffered from severe depression and anxiety and he took the help of yoga and therapy to overcome it.
What did Vijay Verma say?
“I was completely alone in an apartment in Mumbai. Luckily, I had a small terrace—I could see the sky, be with the natural elements. Otherwise, I would have gone mad. In fact, I went mad. What happened to me, that stagnation, this constant chasing of work, results in you becoming very lonely. I felt very lonely, very scared, and I was wondering why I was confined to my couch for four days,” Vijay told the podcast. Can’t move? What’s happening?
How Ira Khan helped him
The actor further told how Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan helped him at that time. Vijay said, “At that time, Ira and Gulshan (Devaiah) were like a small support system for me. Ira was assisting on ‘Dahaad’ and we all became good friends during the shooting. We would video call each other on Zoom, have dinner – that was our circle. But my condition was deteriorating. The first thing she told me was, ‘Vijay, I think you should start moving a little.’ Ira Khan used to work out on Zoom and made me work out too. I finally talked to a therapist over Zoom and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety…my therapist even recommended medication. I told him, ‘Let me manage for now.'” Vijay said that along with doing Surya Namaskar and yoga, he also took therapy.
