Today, Vigilance raided RTA offices in different cities across Punjab. Many complaints were coming through the Chief Minister’s anti -corruption help line. After which today the Vigilance Range including Flying Squad and Economic Offenses Branch (EOW)

In the action, RTA officials and agents were targeted, who were working as middlemen. These people were charging illegal fees for accelerating the license process or rigging the results of the driving test.

These people trapped in the trap of vigilance

Those arrested include Sukhwinder Singh, a private agent from Mohali, who was caught red handed taking Rs 2,500 as a part of a bribe of Rs 5,000 for creating a driving license and passing the test.

In Fatehgarh Sahib, another agent Paramjit Singh was caught taking 5 thousand rupees for similar illegal services.

He said that the EOW unit in Ludhiana detained three persons – Pankaj Arora alias Sunny, Deepak Kumar and Manish Kumar for demanding bribe ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,500. Ludhiana Vigilance Range also arrested two more agents, Tausif Ahmed Ansari and Honey Arora, for allegedly recovering Rs 7 thousand and Rs 5 thousand 500 respectively for obtaining license.
