Noted stunt master Mohanraj aka SM Raju (52) died during the shooting of an action scene of a film in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. A source close to him gave this information on Monday. Mohanraj was running the SUV for a bang stunt scene from director P Ranjit’s film ‘Vetuvam’ at Nagapattinam on 13 July and suddenly fainted. His colleagues took him out of the car and took him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

A video of the incident went viral in which the people on the set can be seen running to help Mohanraj and taking them out of the car. Mohanraj was a native of Kanchipuram. Stuntman and actor Silva wrote on ‘X’, “One of our great car jumping stunt actors, SM Raju died while doing stunts with a car. may his soul rest in peace. Our stunt union and Indian film industry will miss them.

Raju was the first choice for stunts in every film
Popular stunt choreographer Silva also mourned Raju’s death on Instagram. He wrote, “One of our best car jumping stunt actors, SM Raju died today while doing car stunts. Our stunt union and Indian film industry will remember him.” However, actor Arya and director Pa Ranjit have not yet issued any official statement about the incident. Raju was known for his adventure stunts in the Kollywood industry and has been a part of many films over the years. Everyone liked his work so much that he used to give whatever money he used to give him to do dangerous stunts in his films.

Vishal promised Vishal’s family to cooperate
Vishal, who has worked on several projects with Raju, expressed deep grief over this damage. Vishal wrote, “It is very sad to know that stunt artist Raju today died while doing a car flip sequence for Jamie @Arya_ofl and @beemji Ranjit.
The actor also assured to give his support to Raju’s family. He added, “My deep sensations are with you and their souls should be peaceful. God should give more strength to his family in this hour of grief. Not only for this tweet, but I will definitely be present for the future of his family because I am also from the same film industry and I thank him for his contribution in so many films. I give him a supportive and his family and his family.”
