About Dhunuchi dance
It is a traditional and devotional Bengali dance performed during Durga Puja, especially performed during the Sandhya Aarti. In this, the dancer dances on the rhythm of ‘Dhaka’, while balanced by a particular earthen pamphlet called Dhunuchi on his hands or sometimes the head. The coconut burning inside the tune and fragrant smoke arises from the frankincense, which is considered a medium to purify the atmosphere and please Goddess Durga; This dance is a symbol of power and energy and the mythological belief that Goddess Durga herself performed this dance to increase her power before fighting with Mahishasura.
