Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains in Bangalore. The newly introduced services include Bengaluru-Belgawi Root, Amritsar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Root and Nagpur (Ajni)-Pune Root. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Bangalore on Sunday as part of his Karnataka tour. He was welcomed by Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former Chief Minister and BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa and other dignitaries at KSR railway station. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the Yellow line of Bangalore Metro the next day. Prime Minister Modi stated the need of new Vande Bharat Express trains.

Prior to his tour, Prime Minister Modi explained the need for new Vande Bharat trains. He posted on X (first Twitter), “Tomorrow, August 10, I am eager to be with the people of Bengaluru. Three Vande Bharat Express trains will be cleared from KSR railway station to improve connectivity. To strengthen the infrastructure of Bangalore city, the Yellow Metro line will be inaugurated. The foundation will be addressed to a public program in the city.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 19 km long Yellow line of Bangalore Metro, which runs from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bomasandra. Built at a cost of about ₹ 7,160 crore under the second phase, this corridor includes 16 stations, which connect major residential, commercial and industrial centers. In this detail, the metro network of Bengaluru has moved beyond 96 km, which will benefit millions of daily travelers. The Prime Minister also traveled by metro from RV Road to Electronic City. Later, he laid the foundation stone for the third phase costing ₹ 15,610 crore, including elevated tracks and 31 new stations.
