The politics of Tamil Nadu today showed a new turn when the conference of famous actor Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) was held in Madurai. This conference has created a new stir in political circles not only the size of the crowd but also the edge of the message. In the background of this song, Vijay also showed his popularity while walking the ramp on the conference stage. Apart from this, if we look at the speech of other party officials and Vijay, the message is clear that TV will not compromise with any big party and Vijay itself will be revealed as the Chief Ministerial candidate. This positioning separates him from traditional veterans like DMK and AIADMK.

Looking at the election equation of Tamil Nadu, DMK is still the strongest player on the strength of its organized cadre and welfare plans. At the same time, the future of opposition AIADMK and NDA is uncertain; If TV fights separately, then the scattering of anti-DMK votes can benefit the DMK. In addition, other parties (NTK, MNM etc.) can make a slight dent in urban and issue votes, but TVK’s influence appears more wide.
Today, after seeing the crowd of TVK conference, three possible scenario are emerging. First- If TVK collects more than 30% of the votes, then it can become the main face of the opposition with 60–90 seats. Second- 25–50 seats likely to get 20–25% votes; Then his role will be important in coalition politics. Third- If the vote is limited to 10–15%, the seats will come down but the anti-DMK votes will be divided and will benefit the DMK.
If you look at the challenges standing in front of TVK, it will have to convert the crowd into booth level votes, introduce concrete and practical manifesto against the Welfare Model of DMK and will have to remain until the end or convert under pressure from electoral mathematics.
However, TVK’s Madurai conference made it clear that the party is no longer a “footnote” but a “factor”. The image of Vijay’s star power and clean politics has raised hope in the public. If the party meets the organizational criterion and connects the aspirations of the youth and women with concrete policy proposals, the 2026 assembly elections may be seen changing the traditional bipolar politics of Tamil Nadu.
