Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, along with the local administration, started a rapid relief and withdrawal operations. While the new route is closed, the journey is being allowed to continue through traditional old routes. A Shrine Board official said, “Keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, the journey has been diverted on the original route. Our teams with disaster management personnel are cleaning debris on a war footing.” The authorities have urged the pilgrims to be vigilant, only follow the authorized routes and strictly follow meteorological advice. Additional personnel have been deployed on the ground to help and guide visitors.

Earlier, there was a huge landslide on Monday on the new route to Mata Vaishno Devi temple located on Trikuta hills in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the battery car service had to be postponed. Officials said no one was injured in the landslide due to heavy rains. He said that the pilgrimage has been diverted on the old route and it continues without any disruption.
