After long controversies, Bollywood actress Vani Kapoor and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s much awaited film ‘Abir Gulal’ is finally going to release worldwide on August 29. However, the film’s makers have decided not to release it in theaters in India.
What is the reason for the dispute?
The film was scheduled to be released in May earlier, but the diplomatic tension between India and Pakistan increased considerably after the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the retaliation by India. Pakistani artists in India were banned due to this tension, due to which ‘Abir Gulal’ could not be released on its fixed date.

According to a report in business, the film had to face opposition due to Fawad Khan’s presence in India. The teaser and songs of the film received a good response from the Indian audience and fans of Fawad were also excited about his return to Indian cinema after nine years, but the atmosphere changed after the attack. Demand for boycott of the film from different sections of the society began to arise, after which the producers had to take this decision.

What did Vani Kapoor say on Boycot?
Actress Vani Kapoor had to face hard criticism due to joining this film. He spoke on this in a recent media program. He said, ‘There is a lot of poison and hatred in it, I keep listening, boycott it, cancel it. Do not do it, let people live on their own free will. ‘
Another actress of the film, Riddhi Dogra, also defended her decision to be a part of the project. He said, ‘When I signed the film, relations between the two countries were stable. I followed all laws. Today, I am standing with my country and our armed forces, but do not bother me for what was legal at that time. ‘
