Uttarkashi cloudbursts: 190 people were rescued, Dhami said- Central and State Governments are doing work together

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Wednesday that about 190 people have been rescued after the severe floods and landslides caused by cloudburst in Dharali area. Speaking to ANI, Chief Minister Dhami reiterated that both the central and state governments are fully committed to make arrangements for the victims of the incident. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also assured all possible help. He said that the disaster has affected the entire Dharali.

The Chief Minister said that the disaster has completely affected the entire Dharali and after the incident of yesterday, debris has come there in several stages. I went there today and met people, talked to them and inquired about the incident. The disaster destroyed everything. Along with this, by evening, army personnel have saved about 190 people from Dharali. They have been evacuated to safe places. Right now the injured are also being removed from there and brought to Uttarkashi.

Chief Minister Dhami further said that roads connecting many areas have also been affected by landslides. He said that the administration is working to restore facilities in the area. He said, “In many places, the entire contact road has been completely affected by the landslide … Will help … “

This morning, Chief Minister Dhami reached the ground Zero and met the local people at the scene of cloudburst and landslide in Dharli, causing great damage to homes and other buildings. Chief Minister Dhami held a disaster management meeting at the State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to assess the cloudburst and sudden floods at Dharli in Uttarkashi. He also visited the Josiestra helipad in Uttarkashi and recently assessed the areas affected by cloudburst. He reviewed the damage and ongoing relief operations by an aerial survey of the affected areas. Rescue and relief campaign continues with full cooperation of the state and central government.
