Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed condolences to the victims of Dehradun landslide on Wednesday and said that the state has seen many disasters this year. Dhami was speaking at a handicraft exhibition program in Dehradun and said that the government is fully committed to rehabilitation works in disaster affected areas. Dhami said that there was a disastrous disaster in Dehradun yesterday. This year there have been many such incidents in the state. I express deep condolences to those families who have lost their loved ones. Our government is committed to rehabilitation works in the disaster affected areas of the state.

Today, there is rains in Dehradun due to the early hours, due to which the Sahastradhara river is in spate. Due to strong current, debris came into the main market area, causing great damage to many business establishments. Floods caused by heavy rains, shops and hotels on Sahastradhara Road were badly damaged. The debris came to the main market and damaged hotels and shops. The Chief Minister expressed concern over the widespread damage caused to shops and hotels due to heavy rains in Sahastradhara area of Dehradun and instructed the authorities to speed up rescue and relief operations. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on September 16 on the occasion of his 50th birthday dedicated himself to disaster management efforts across the state, in a press release of CMO.

The Chief Minister inspected the disaster affected areas in the morning and gave necessary instructions to the officials for quick relief and rescue operations. Later from the Chief Minister’s residence, he participated in the Tehsil Day programs held across the state through virtual medium and interacted with the citizens.
