A farmer died in a tiger attack on Monday morning in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. An official of the forest department has confirmed the incident. According to the forest department official, a farmer Dayaram (39) was attacked by a farmer in Badi Phulhar village of Neuria police station area of the district on Monday morning.
The farmer died after being seriously injured in the tiger attack. Dayaram went to see a sugarcane crop in the field in front of his house in the morning, where the tiger already attacked him and dragged the sugarcane field to 20 meters inside. By hearing his screams, Dayaram had died by the time the people working in the surrounding fields arrived.
Confirming the incident, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Bharat Kumar said that the entire area has been surrounded by sending the forest department team on the spot. The villagers of the area have been alerted.
The body of the deceased farmer Dayaram has been sent for postmortem. Police and forest department team reached the spot after receiving information, the villagers told that the tiger has been roaming in the area for two months. In this regard, the villagers complained several times to the forest department, but the officials did not pay attention. After this incident, there is anger between the villagers and the families of the deceased.
