Shivpuri. The Union Minister of Communications and North Eastern Region Development and Regional MP Jyotiraditya Scindia has given strict warnings on irregularity and gross negligence on beautification of 14 km long theme road passing through Shivpuri city. The efforts of Scindia and in collaboration with the then state government, the renewal of the said road and plantation and beautification on the divider was done, but due to the negligence of the contractor working, trees planted for beautification are on the verge of drying up.
According to the information received, the municipality gave a contract of 99 lakh to a firm of Bhopal for plantation work on 14 km divider in the year 2022–23. But the project was left in the middle after the contractor leaving the work incomplete and taking the payment amount of ₹ 14 lakh. This not only hurt the expectations of the citizens, but the plants planted on the divider started drying up due to lack of proper care and the bushes and wild grass spread in the area.
*Rapid action as soon as Scindia comes to cognizance*
As soon as this information reached the notice of Union Minister Scindia, he immediately approached the District Collector, Shivpuri and summoned the report of the entire matter and directed to take strict action against the concerned contractor. According to the report received from the Collector, out of the total sanctioned amount of ₹ 99 lakh, ₹ 14 lakh was done, after which the payment was made. But due to negligence in the work, the condition of the plants deteriorated and after that the security amount of ₹ 3 lakh of the contractor has been seized.
*New initiative: consignment and cleaning work of favorable plants*
Following the instructions of Union Minister Scindia, the work of cleaning the dividers and wild grass is currently in progress, which will be completed in the next few days. After this, a new consignment of the plants will be installed according to the compatibility of the place this time. Information information will be re -planted next week at a cost of ₹ 80,000, so that the theme road beauty can be restored again.
