Demonstration against Pakistan Army in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is intensifying. The vehicles were set on fire. Slogans are being raised against the government and the army. The fire of rebellion in Pakistan occupied Kashmir is being blazing so much that people have opened a front against the government and the army. 6 people were killed in Pakistani Army firing in a protest against subsidy cuts against basic needs in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK). 3 policemen have also died. According to TOI, the Pakistani army fired on people performing peacefully in PoK. The incidents took place in the areas. The movement has become violent Muzaffarabad and nearby since 29 September. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed concern over the violence.

India on Friday targeted Pakistan over the recent protests in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) and said that this is the result of Islamabad’s ‘oppressive policies’. At a press conference in New Delhi, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal further said that Pakistan should be held responsible for human rights violations in PoK. The Ministry of External Affairs said that we have seen reports of protests in many areas of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the barbarity carried out by the Pakistani Army on innocent citizens. We believe that this is the natural consequence of Pakistan’s oppressive attitude and forcibly and illegally occupied resources of these areas of these areas. Pakistan should be held accountable to its frightening human rights violations.

There have been violent protests against the Pakistani government in PoK, in which 12 civilians have died and more than 200 people were injured. These protests are led by the United Awami Action Committee (JAAC), seeking economic relief and more political autonomy for the people of PoK. Due to protests, local authorities have discontinued mobile and internet services at PoK, while hotels, shops and commercial centers are also closed in Muzaffarabad. According to reports, the ban is likely to continue in the region.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed concern over the PoK situation. His office said in a statement that Sharif has ordered an ‘transparent investigation’ of unrest in PoK and also urged the protesters to remain ‘peaceful’. The statement said that he has urged that peaceful protests have constitutional and democratic rights of every citizen, but the protesters should avoid damaging public system. At the government level, to find a peaceful solution to the issue, the Prime Minister has decided to expand the talks committee.
