Udalguri became the center of earthquake, 5.8 magnitude shock in Assam, CM said- no loss

Earthquake tremors were felt in Udalguri district of Assam on Sunday, the intensity of which was measured 5.8 on the Richter scale. State government officials told the news agency PTI that the earthquake came at 4:41 pm, which was at a depth of 5 km in Udalguri.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a post on the social media platform X (first Twitter), ‘Today, Assam has an earthquake of 5.6 magnitude. Its center was near Udalguri. So far there is no news of any major loss or loss of life and property. We are constantly monitoring the situation.
