The Flag march was carried out by the security forces in Imphal, the capital of Manipur.
It has been two years since Manipur violence i.e. on 3 May. During this time there were more than 250 deaths. 50 thousand people are still displaced. Among the 6 thousand FIRs registered, action did not proceed in about 2500. The CBI or the state government is not giving any update on those who are serious crimes.
On Saturday, the Maetai Organization Coordinate Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCCOMI) has asked people to close all activities and join their convention. At the same time, cookie students Organizing (KSO) and Jomi Students Federation (ZSF) have also called off in cooking areas.
The Cookie community is celebrating today as a day of isolation. Here, in view of the tension in the state, security forces have made strict security arrangements in Imphal, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi.
20 km flag march of security forces
Security forces conducted a flag march a day before the second anniversary of Manipur violence. DIG Sushankar Upadhyay of 34 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) said that this flag march will create a trust in the people. People will feel that there is a neutral (not in favor of anyone) to overcome the situation.
DIG Upadhyay also told that 1000 soldiers attended the flag march. We organized it in Coordination with the Imphal police. We took out a march of about 20 km. We wanted to warn a kind of faith and miscreants in people.
The Manipur Police also participated in the flag march.

President’s rule from 13 February, demand for new government intensifies

The Center implemented President’s rule in Manipur on 13 February. Since May 2023, 300 people have lost their lives in ethnic violence between Maetai and Cookie groups and thousands of people became homeless.
Rahul had said- PM should go to Manipur immediately
After the resignation of N. Biren Singh, Rahul Gandhi had said that despite violence, loss of life and property, PM Modi retained N Biren Singh, but now N Biren Singh was forced to resign due to increasing pressure from the people, the investigation of the Supreme Court and the Congress’ no-confidence motion.
In the X post, he said that the most important thing at this time is that peace should be restored in the state and the work of healing the wounds of the people of Manipur. PM Modi should immediately go to Manipur, listen to the people there and tell what they are planning to normalize the situation.
