Two police constables were injured in an attack with sharp weapons by some drug smugglers in Devnar area of Mumbai. This information was given by an officer on Sunday.
A Deonar police officer said that five attackers have been arrested in connection with the incident that took place late on Saturday night. The official said that during patrolling near a garden in Devnar, two constables found four-five narcotics smugglers drinking cannabis.
The official said that when the constable tried to catch him, he attacked the policemen with sharp weapons. Police said one constable was attacked with a sharp weapon in the chest and stomach, while the other was hurt.
The official said that all the accused were arrested under Section 109 (1) (attempt to murder) and the provisions of the NDPS Act.
