Two employees died while cleaning sewer tank in Mathura

Two employees died while cleaning the sewer tank of a guest house in Vrindavan city of Mathura district. The police gave this information on Sunday. The relatives of the deceased created a ruckus over the incident and after the assurance of the city commissioner, they calmed down.

Police post in-charge Kulvir Singh said that on Saturday evening, two-three sweepers had arrived in Keshavdham area to clean the private sewer tank on the call of a contractor.

He said that as soon as an employee landed in the tank, he fainted due to poisonous gas, after which the tank landed to save him, the other partner also became Behesh. People gathered there when the third partner made noise.

The outpost in -charge said that the local people somehow rushed him to the hospital where doctors declared both dead. The deceased have been identified as Narendra (38) and Chhotalal (40). The relatives of both the deceased created a ruckus in the hospital itself.

On receiving the information of the incident, Commissioner Jagpravesh Chand, who assured to get appropriate compensation, pacified the family members. The police have started investigating the case by taking the contractor into custody and sent the body for postmortem, the local people alleged that both the workers had no security equipment.
