A case of creating fake dope test report has come to light at Bhultha, a government hospital in Kapurthala. This action was taken after the complaint received by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on the anti -corruption action line. The Vigilance Bureau has arrested two accused.

According to the information, the arrested accused have been identified as ward attendant Manpreet Singh alias Sonu and computer operator Bholu alias Ismail. Both the accused were caught taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for release of negative dope test report. Investigations have revealed that the accused regularly rigged the dope test results.

Use of reports to obtain arms license

These fake reports were used to obtain arms licenses or to renew the old license. The complainant has also submitted audio-video evidence and fake reports to demand bribery.

A spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the role of Dr. Mohitpal posted in the hospital and a temporary lab technician Man Singh is also being investigated. In the case, a case has been registered in the Vigilance Police Station Jalandhar under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Code. The team of Jalandhar Range is also investigating the role of other employees associated with the case.
