HyderabadProtests by various student organizations continued in several parts of the state for the second day following the leak of question papers for examinations conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Aam Aadmi Party’s Telangana unit Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) gathered in front of the TSPSC office carrying placards and raising slogans demanding the resignation of commission chairman B Janardhana Reddy.
During the protest, the students demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge into question paper leakers. During this the students sat on the road and some of them tried to gherao the TSPSC office. According to the police officer, about 50 protesters belonging to these organizations have been taken into preventive custody by the police. Meanwhile, activists of the Progressive Democratic Students’ Union (PDSU) and PYL took out a rally in Khammam district over the issue.

Besides, protests were also reported from Adilabad and Nizamabad districts. Police on Tuesday arrested Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state president A Bhanu Prakash and six others in connection with the protest after registering a case against them. Significantly, TSPSC chairman Janardhana Reddy had said that a decision on whether to cancel the exam or not would be taken on Wednesday after considering several issues.
Nine people, including an Assistant Section Officer, two candidates and a constable in TSPSC, were arrested on Monday for their alleged involvement in the data breach for stealing and leaking TSPSC Assistant Engineer (Civil) exam question paper . Significantly, the exam was held on March 5. At the same time, the police is also probing the involvement of other people in this case. (agency )
