Trump’s tariff game will be completely overturned, may have to return 31 billion

America, who has lost the dream of bowing to the economies around the world with its tariff weapons, is now getting its policies. Now the US government is in danger of returning billions of dollars and it is going to be decided in the US Supreme Court. Trump adopted an aggressive policy during his tenure after re -handling the White House. Taking recourse to the recipe -rifle tariff ie, he applied tariffs ranging from 10 % to 50 % on more than 180 countries. It consisted of big countries like India, China, Canada, Brazil. In August 2025 alone, tariffs were extended twice in August 2025. On August 7, 25 % were reduced to 25 % and 50 % on 27 August. Trump claimed that this would benefit the US and would bow to foreign companies.

According to the government report, in August 2025, he earned $ 31 billion from the tariff i.e. he earned heavy revenue in a month. But now this amount is threatened. Actually, the matter has reached the court on the issue of tariffs. The court ruled that Donald Trump has misused the International Emergency Economic Power Act i.e. IEEPA Act. The IEEPA law applies only in emergency situations. The court said that it is the encroachment of the President’s right to impose such a big tariff on the business issue. Now this case has gone to the US Supreme Court. But in the meantime, US Finance Minister Scott Besan said in the NBS News program that if the Supreme Court upheld the Federal Court’s verdict, we may have to refund about half the tariff.

Besant said that we have to give refunds on about half the tariff, which will be terrible for the treasury. When asked if the administration was ready to release those repayments, he admitted that if the court says so, we would have to do so. However, he insisted that he is confident that the Trump administration would win. Besent’s comment came after two federal courts found that Trump does not have the right to impose extensive tariffs under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Power Act (IEEPA).

Since the new tariff was implemented in August, the US Customs and Border Security Department has collected more than US $ 70 billion, which is less than half of tariff revenue of US $ 180 billion collected this year. Besant warned that if the case lasts between 2026, the total refund may be between US $ 750 billion to 1 trillion US $ 1 trillion, leading to “considerable disruption” in US finance.
