Can Trump Constitution change?
If Trump has to contest for the post of US President for the third time, he will have to change the US Constitution, which is not so easy. Trump will have to pass a bill with a two-thirds majority in both the American Senate and House of Representatives. Trump’s Republican Party does not have so many members in both houses.
Trump’s Republican Party in the Senate has 52 out of 100 senators. At the same time, there are 220 members out of 435 in the House of Representatives. This is much less than the two -thirds of the constitution amendment i.e. 67% majority required.
Even if Trump achieves this majority, it will not be so easy to amend the Constitution for him. After passing the bill from both the Houses of the US Congress, approval has to be obtained from the states for this amendment.
For this, the constitution can be amended only after the majority of three -fourth of the states. That is, if 38 out of 50 American states agreed to change the constitution, only then the rules can change.
