External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made his initial remarks saying that I want to say that it is a pleasure to meet you during my visit for SCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting. Let us tell you that Jaishankar is visiting China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is currently on a tour of China. After the visit to Singapore, Jaishankar reached China directly where he met Vice President Han Zheng. Sharing the picture of the meeting with the Vice President of China, Dr. Jaishankar said that after reaching Beijing today, he was happy to meet Vice President Han Zheng. Jaishankar wrote that expressed support for the chairmanship of China in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Bilateral relations between the two countries improved. Hopefully, the conversation during this journey will remain positive. During this meeting, Jaishankar said that the relations between the two countries have improved since the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan last October. I am sure that this positivity will remain with our discussion during this visit.

This is Jaishankar’s first visit to China after the 2020 military deadlock over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh and after the serious tension in the relationship between the two countries. He said that I am confident that my discussions in this journey will move in this positive direction. In the last few months, India and China have initiated several measures to improve bilateral relations, which in June 2020 had severely deteriorated after a deadly clashes between the two forces.

The Foreign Minister also mentioned the 75th anniversary of the establishment of India-China diplomatic relations. He said that the restoration of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is also being widely appreciated in India. Continuous normal of our relationships can result in mutually beneficial results. The international situation we are getting today is very complex. Open exchange of ideas and attitude between India and China as neighboring countries and major economies is very important. I hope such discussions during this journey. The Foreign Minister said in a post on social media that he expressed India’s support for SCO’s chairmanship in a conversation with Vice President Zheng.

Jaishankar said that took cognizance of improvement in our bilateral relations. And expressed confidence that the conversation during my visit would move in a positive direction. Less than three weeks before Jaishankar’s visit, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh traveled to the Chinese port city Kingdao to attend the conference of Defense Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO). China is the current chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and that is why he is hosting meetings of this group.
