The trailer of ‘Masti 4’, the fourth installment of the popular comedy franchise ‘Masti’, has been embroiled in controversy as soon as it was released on November 4. On social media platforms, viewers have raised sharp questions over the nature of the film’s content and adult humor, sparking a fierce online debate.
Since the trailer release, a large section of the audience has been expressing their displeasure over the tone and comedy shown in the trailer. Many users have called it ‘cheap’, ‘vulgar’ and ‘bad humor’. This discussion intensified when a female viewer posted on X questioning the ethics of the film makers, ‘You will never know how they face the women of their house after doing such films.’ This comment fueled allegations related to the portrayal of women.
On the other hand, a section of old fans of the franchise found the trailer to be fun and have wholeheartedly welcomed the return of this popular comedy series.

The director gave a befitting reply
Director Milap Zaveri responded directly to these serious concerns through social media. He appealed to the audience not to form any final opinion before watching the entire film. Responding to the female viewer’s comment, Zaveri wrote, ‘Mam please do watch the film. You may be in for a nice surprise. The role and POV (Point of View) of women is very strong.

Directed by Milap Zaveri, ‘Masti 4’ stars the franchise’s original cast Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh along with new faces like Nargis Fakhri, Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor. Apart from these, the film also stars Roohi Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Shaad Randhawa, Nishant Singh Malkani and Natalia Janoszek in important roles. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on November 21, 2025, as the fourth installment in the long franchise that started in 2004.

screening of previous films
The previous films in the franchise, ‘Masti’, ‘Grand Masti’, and ‘Great Grand Masti’, were commercial successes, however the third film ‘Great Grand Masti’ did not perform as expected at the box office due to it being leaked online.
