This government holiday is dedicated to the constitution -maker Babasaheb Dr. BR Ambedkar. This is done on the occasion of Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. A letter has also been issued by the state government in this regard. All schools, colleges, government offices, boards and corporations in Punjab will remain closed on 14 April.
It is noteworthy that on 14 April, the Punjab government has declared a gazetted holiday on the occasion of Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanti.
