Tokyo Olympics: Lovelina wins hearts despite losing in semifinals, another medal in India’s account

Today is the 13th day of the Tokyo Olympics. The big news right now is that Indian women’s boxer Lovelina Borgohen (69kg) has lost her semi-final match against World Cup winner Busenaz Surmenelli of Turkey.

However, despite losing in the semifinals, Lovelina has made history. Lovelina is the first Indian woman boxer to win a medal in the 69 kg category. Apart from Lovelina, only two Indian athletes have won medals in the history of the Olympic Games. Before Lovelina, Vijender Singh and MC Mary Kom have won bronze medals in the Olympic Games.
