Boxer Lovelina Borgohen, who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, will now be seen in a khaki police uniform. Lovelina has been added to her Assam State Police as a trainee Deputy Superintendent (DSP).

State Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma expressed confidence that Lovelina would be part of the Indian Police Service (IPS) in the near future. Lovelina looked very emotional and thanked the police department for the honor.

Addressing the special function, Chief Minister Sarma said that winning the bronze medal in boxing at the Tokyo Olympics last year was the most prestigious moment in the history of sports in the state. He said that given the current age of the player, she could one day reach a higher position in the Assam Police Service (APS) and later in the IPS cadre. According to Sarma, “We recommend providing IPS cadre to the most talented APS officers. She will be able to do this on her own, for which she will have to complete her graduation in the meantime. ”
