Today is the first day of Chaitra Navratri. During Navratri, each of the nine days is dedicated to a different form of Goddess Durga, in which Mother Shailputri is worshiped on the first day.

Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, is located on Trikut mountain in Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir.

Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Mahamaya Devi Temple –

This temple is considered one of the 36 Shaktipeeths of Chhattisgarh. Kuldevi of Kalchuri rulers is dedicated to Mahakali.

Delhi, Jhandewalan Temple –

The ancient idol of the goddess was found after digging at this place. There are very high flags above the temple, which are also visible from far flung areas. For this reason, the temple was named “Jhandewale” temple.

Guwahati, Maa Kamakhya Temple –

Maa Kamakhya Devalaya is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. This temple is the temple of Sati, the goddess of power.

Mumbai, Shri Mumbadevi Temple

The name of Mumbai has come out in the name of Devi Mumba i.e. Mumba Mata.
