On the first day of the budget session, on March 24, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta made kheer and fed the employees.
The BJP government of Delhi will present the first budget (2025-26) on 25 March after 26 years. It can be ₹ 80 thousand crores. CM Rekha Gupta will present it on the second day of the budget session. The budget will be discussed in detail on 26 March. All MLAs will share their opinion and response to the government’s plans and policies in the assembly.
On March 27, the assembly will be voted after a debate on the budget. The BJP government of Delhi has launched Mahila Samriddhi Yojana on International Women’s Day (March 8). In this, women of poor families are to be given 2500 rupees every month. It can also be announced in the budget. About 20 lakh women will get the benefit of this scheme.
In the budget, Yamuna cleaning, education, health, pollution, water, waterlogging problems, roads, pollution and schemes related to farmers of Delhi can also be announced. CM Rekha has said that the budget of ‘developed Delhi’ is the budget of the people. The Delhi government has received more than 10 thousand suggestions from the public on the budget through email and WhatsApp.
Talking about the last 10 budgets of Delhi, it was ₹ 41129 thousand crore in 2015-16. ₹ 76 thousand crore reached 2024-25. The AAP government has been spending about 40 Fasidi money on its total budget on health and education. Which has been the highest compared to any state in the country.

What are the main sources of Delhi’s revenue?
Last time, the then CM of Delhi, Atishi, presented a budget of 76 thousand crore rupees. Then he had said- Delhi’s population is only 1.55 percent of the total population of the country, but Delhi’s contribution to the country’s GDP is more than doubled.
Talking about the revenue of Delhi, it is the main source tax. The Delhi government earns through VAT, Property Tax, Income Tax, Stamp Duty, Road Tax and many other taxes. 70 percent of the total budget of Delhi is available from tax revenue only. Delhi is also one of the largest business centers in India.
Help Delhi through central grant The central government also gives grants and loans to the Delhi government like every state. In the budget of 2025-26, the government has made a provision of ₹ 1348 crore for Delhi. Which includes ₹ 968.01 crore grant and ₹ 380 crore loan.
Delhi is also a union territory, due to which there are many areas which the central government directly controls. Because of this, the central government directly spends a lot of expenses. Like- Police salary. Similarly, the central government spends directly on many schemes.

March 24: First day of budget session
The budget session of Delhi Assembly began on 24 March with Kheer Ceremony. Such was the first time before the session started. CM Rekha Gupta presented the CAG report on the functioning of Delhi Transport Co-operation (DTC) in the House. After this, BJP MLA Harish Khurana accused the AAP government of mismanagement of DTC.
Khurana said that DTC liabilities increased from Rs 28,263 crore in 2015-16 to Rs 65,274 crore in 2021-22, as it lost more than Rs 14,000 crore during the same period. Apart from this, the number of DTC buses declined from 4,344 to 3,937 in 2015. The income to DTC also decreased from Rs 914 crore to Rs 558 crore at the time of AAP coming to power.
After the debate, the Chief Minister proposed the formation of the Public Accounts Committee and a Business Advisory Committee, which will have 9 members in each. The proposal was passed by soundly before the assembly was postponed by 11 am on Tuesday. Read full news …
