Four people, including three teenagers who went to fill the Kalash for Durga Puja on Monday morning at Gaura Ghat of Saryu river in Barhj area of ​​Deoria district, drowned in the river. On receiving the information, the three are being searched in the river with the help of divers who arrived with the police. Officers have reached the spot. According to the police, the idol of Maa Durga is being kept in Nahchhua village of Barhaj police station area and the people of the village went to the Saryu river in Gaura in Barah to fill the urn at around 10 am.

He said that while filling the urn in the Saryu river, Vivek Kumar (19) of the village, Ranjit (16), Shekhar (15), Ganguli (15), residents of New Bazar in Chaurichora police station area of ​​Gorakhpur district, went into deep water and started drowning.

Police said that after hearing the noise, the people present on the spot saved Ganguly, but Vivek, Ranjit and Shekhar drowned in deep water. Immediately the police was informed about the incident and Anshuman Srivastava, the jurisdiction (CO) of Barhaj, reached with the police force and started the search. The three have not been detected yet.

CO Srivastava said that three, including two teenagers, are reported to be drowning. They are being searched with the help of divers while a teenager has been rescued.
