The Indian team’s long-running World Cup winning streak against Pakistan came to a halt on Sunday. In the match played between India and Pakistan yesterday, they defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets.
After which Indian captain Virat Kohli looked very disappointed, but he said that this is the beginning of the Twenty20 World Cup and now there is no need to sound the alarm.
“We could not carry out our strategy the way we wanted to,” Kohli said after the match. They performed better than us in every way. “Certainly our team is not one to sound the alarm with a defeat,” Kohli said. This is the beginning of the tournament, not the end.
He said that India had lost the wickets of both openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in the first 13 balls, after which it was not easy to come back. “Things can change in T20 matches, in which you need 10-20 extra runs, but Pakistan bowled very well,” he said.
It may be recalled that after losing the toss, the Indian team batted first and gave Pakistan a target of 152 runs. Which Pakistan team easily won without losing a wicket. For Pakistan, skipper Babar Azam scored 68 not out and Mohammad Rizwan 79 not out to clinch the title.
