According to a report by the Union Government, employment in the country increased by 29 per cent during the first quarter of this year from April to June 2021 as compared to the financial year 2013-14.
These figures are for employment in 9 sectors. Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav Giving a true picture of the situation, he said that these figures were helpful for better policy. The Labor Minister on Monday released the report of the quarterly employment survey related to non-agricultural enterprises which has provided more than 10 jobs.
Accordingly, the estimated total employment in the nine sectors selected in the first round of the survey is 38 million. This is an increase of 29 per cent over the total employment of 2.37 per cent in 2013-14. These nine sectors include construction, manufacturing, trade, transportation, education, health, housing and restaurants, IT and BPO, as well as financial services.
